Microslop is now blocking VeraCrypt and WireGuard updates behind "verification" walls.
It’s becoming a full-time job just to keep privacy tools working on Windows.

Question: How much "corporate oversight" is the path of least resistance worth to you?
| I've already migrated. | |
| Planning Linux switch. | |

| Can't be bothered to change. |
Here we go - again! - with round 2 for #MicroSlop in trying to get a new #DataCenter in #GainesTownship in #Michigan...
"Ahead of a high-profile data center meeting in Gaines Township, #Microsoft has presented a set of conditions based on public input that will guide its development."
Sooo... the fox has provided the farmer with details on what conditions it can agree on before storming the hen house -BUT- it won't say what it will do once inside?!?!? (the #ZeroPlan )
...Even now, while scaling back visible integrations, Microsoft is still pushing Copilot into enterprise tools, workflows, and services. So what you’re seeing isn’t a retreat. It’s a recalibration. AI isn’t going away. It’s just being repositioned by making it less visible, but silently seeping into the foundations...
Linux. Just install Linux.
Getting my work computer back online, and I’m reminded what a shit show MS Word is in its default state.
Libre office and other alternatives get a lot of shit for their less polished UI, but Word is barely usable until you customize the ribbon, add some macros, and change the default track changes colors.
Like, no, it is not helpful to have tracked additions as blue underline, and tracked deletions as blue strikethrough. Use different colors for fucks sake what the actual fuck

Oh fuck off Microsoft. I know which software is safe and unsafe. I do not need you to protect me.
Smart App Control blocked an app that may be unsafe.
C:\Program Files\Paperback\paperback.exe was blocked because we can’t confirm who wrote it and it’s not an app we’re familiar with.
If you think we made a mistake in blocking this app, select Send feedback to send us a copy of the app along with your comments to review.
Hmm, because it didn't come from your shitty ass store?
I know I can disable Smart App Control and I've done that, but this is how you train people to fear indie developers and it creams my corn!
If you all want a fantastic EBook program, go download Paperback by @TheQuinbox at https://github.com/trypsynth/paperback
Sighted people might need to get used to the interface but honestly I am sure it won't be hard for you sighted folk.
