@jbz to some extent it is good because it #divest|s and #defund|s #PatentTrolls like #Sisvel who harrassed busonesses all the time.

  • But for the better the world has moved on and away from #mp3 and towards #vorbis, #opus and espechally #FLAC, and with #storage cheaper than ever, tgere isn't as much oressure to compress the shit out of audio content.

Is it just me or did #Sisvel invest considerable amounts of money to get their article yeeted of #Wikipedia?

And they ain't unkown for litigating companies amidst assumed or real [IDK!] #PatentViolations...
