One of the species I most look forward to seeing in #Norfolk are Shore Lark. This year, they were where they were supposed to be at the 'Holkham Gap'. Great sight as they sped about feeding.

I only ever see Shore Lark when I go to #Norfolk and this year it took some doing. A walk of nearly two miles up the beach at #Holkham (and back again). Worth every step.

At #Titchwell these Golden Plover looked beautiful in the light.

Fabulous - if short - visit to #Norfolk and #Cambridgeshire. Good times birding, banter and beers. Three new species of birds over the three days (Pallid Harrier (what a bird!); Grey Partridge (don't judge me); Hume's Leaf Warbler). Plus Tawny, Long-eared and Barn Owl, the very gorgeous Shorelark and Snow Bunting, Hen Harrier and Hares along with many, many more. Birding in -5 deg C was 'interesting'. Tired but happy. #UKBirding #Birding #Birds #Wildlife

You're the Devil in Disguise ...Oh yes you are...
I love the little crests that look like horns.
Shore Larks like this one I shot in the northern part of the Netherlands normally live on the Arctic Tundras, but during the Winter they are seen in medium sized flocks along our coast and on the 'Wadden' Islands searching for seeds.
