Of course, I made a crisp sandwich for International #CrispSandwichDay.
Thing is, though, I don't like the classic British crisp sandwich, crisps on white sliced spread with marg, optional sauces. No shade on those who do. Each to their own. Just not my thing.
Crisps as a texture to contribute to a more complex sandwich, though, definitely absolutely 100% my thing. So that's what I made.
Tortilla chips are crisps, right? Obviously yes. I made beef nachos, and put them in a sandwich with spring onions and shredded lettuce. The bread was a homemade sandwich loaf, lightly toasted. Spread with a spicy zingy mayo, that I made with lime juice, garlic, chilli, cumin, salt and a decent amount of black pepper.
It was very much a crisp sandwich, although also a little more than that. And of course I served it with the most appropriate drink for a crisp sandwich, a #BigVimto.
