The sando is quickly gaining popularity in Brussels. One of the first places we saw this Japanese type of sandwich was at Chou Sando, in the centre of Brussels. The prominently displayed beer we saw there, immediately made this Japanese sandwich shop an obvious candidate for our blog!

Met up after work with Kathryn, Terry and Casey to check out the Thick-fil-A sandwich at Northside Yacht Club. They do these pop-ups with regularity and elevate menu items from chain joints.

As for the chicken sandwich? It was good. I feel like I should have tried the vegan version. I love that they almost always make vegan versions of all their dishes.

The real stars of the evening were regular menu items including the fried broccoli, pulled pork sandwich, poutine fries and smoked wings.

Other good things: A cocktail menu where every drink could be made without alcohol (reasonably priced) and table service on the patio where they’ve built all these four top picnic tables with umbrellas.

As the pandemic was in full swing, Northside Yacht Club brought levity and deliciousness by transforming into Nihilist Arby’s for a spell. The Beast and Cheddar with curly fries was super tasty.
