Sindicalistas exigen revisar prórroga de la concesión de Telmex

· La prórroga otorgada por el Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) en 2016 extendió por 30 años la concesión a Carlos Slim, sin evaluar su impacto en más de 50 mil telefonistas.

Trabajadores telefonistas sindicalizados, integrantes de la Alianza Nacional Telefonista (ANT) y de diversas expresiones democráticas al interior del Sindicato de Telefonistas de la República Mexicana (STRM), pidieron revisar lo establecido en la prórroga del Título de Concesión de la empresa Teléfonos de México a favor de Carlos Slim, cuya vigencia iniciará el 11 de marzo del año en curso, esto con el objetivo de lograr el pleno respeto a los derechos laborales y sociales.

En un pronunciamiento realizado en las oficinas centrales de Teléfonos de México (Telmex), los trabajadores señalaron la necesidad de que el Estado mexicano verifique el cumplimiento de las obligaciones adquiridas en la concesión original de 1990 por parte del concesionario Carlos Slim, específicamente en materia de derechos laborales, responsabilidad social y atención al interés público.

Entre los aspectos prioritarios a revisar destacan: la calidad, cobertura y accesibilidad de los servicios de telecomunicaciones, especialmente en comunidades rurales y marginadas; así como la inversión real en desarrollo tecnológico y el uso eficiente de la infraestructura estratégica del país. –sn–
