Non-Americans: Do you use #BritishEnglish or #AmericanEnglish #spelling for APIs and #documentation?

I am gearing up to publish the Rust assertion library I've been slowly working on for the past two years or so, and I am currently working mostly on documentation and some polishing.

I try to use British English whenever I write prose (since I'm not native to anything, I think veering off course at times is OK), but when it comes to #programming, I am a bit ambivalent.

Does anybody else feel like the natural #evolution of #language has been disrupted by the overuse of #LLMs, #spell_checkers and #grammar_checkers?

Perhaps we should let people make some #spelling and #grammatical errors, so that conversations have a bit more #personality, rather than sounding robotic, sterile and monotone.

If that sounds like a recipe for chaotic #writing, remember that we still have the traditional method of providing a back pressure - #education.

I've been listening to podcasts about the Civil War and have been struck by how almost everyone mispronounces Ku Klux Klan, saying "CLUE" for the first part even though there is no "L". Among the offenders are commentators in Ken Burn's The Civil War, everyone on NPR news, and, if memory serves me, characters in the movie, BlacKkKlansman, which is astounding. I found an image from the 1930s that shows that it's not just a modern problem.
