First looked at Garmin’s coaching plans a while back & wasn’t all that impressed but maybe they’ve upgraded them. Proving to be pretty flexible and adapts rather than giving a set schedule then saying ‘tough’ if you miss one. A couple of slidey steps on our icy lane today was enough to have me scuttling back indoors. Did the workout on my rebounder (telling Garmin it was treadmill) and got a ‘good job’ report - not the same as an outdoor run but certainly felt I’d put some effort in 🥵 #RunWalk

Oh no, how will I ever live this down @aroundthehills 😟 I’m supposed to press the lap button on my watch to advance to different phases of a garmin coaching workout but it’s been a bit problematic. I think it was pressed by mistake today because it missed the run and went straight to cooldown. Now Jeff says I’m shite and should try harder 😭 It actually says ‘room to grow’ but I know he’s only being polite.. #RunWalk

Properly back into 10k run/walk training now and no twinges (so far 🙏🏻) My goal still seems a long way off but, you know, baby steps and all that. Apple’s Latin Urban playlist is my motivational go to. A track called Bailar (feat. Pitbull & Elvis Crespo) is particularly good for a brisk walk. Always makes me laugh because I imagine I’m strutting my stuff like a flippin’ female John Travolta, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m glad I can’t quite make out the words 😳 #running #RunWalk

I’ve reached week 9 of my intermittent NHS Cheat25k schedule where I think I’m fooling my virtual coach (Steve Cram) that I’m running for 30 mins. In fact it’s a sort of stumbling lope, but the main point is I’m doing something! I’m not a natural runner - I peaked 11 years ago at 7mins/k over 5k.
