I did it! I crossed the finish line! Definitely highlighted some areas I can work on, but finishing the marathon distance was my #1 objective and that was accomplished.
I kept with 3:45 pacer for *almost* the first half (new PR in the half marathon btw @ 1:51:28), but then post mile 20 things started to fall apart. Fuel and strength wise, I felt okayish, but I don't think I had enough electrolytes (specifically, salt) in my system, because my right leg started to cramp like a mofo. I had to come to a complete stop at least 3 times to deal with severe cramping. It was tough to say the least.
All told, I finished the marathon distance in 5:11:31 (not great when Strava was predicting 4 hours going into it, but I honestly think if I wasn't dealing with the cramping I wouldn't be too far off from the 4 hour mark). The course itself was a BEAST, way hillier than I was expecting but a pretty fun course overall. I enjoyed it.
