We have this one local radio station. Actually we have several, but today I’m only talking about a specific one.

Around the time I was in high school and just after graduating they billed themselves as a “modern and classic” rock station.

Then about ten years or so later they dropped the “modern rock” and called themselves a “classic rock” station.

Today they’re saying “classic rock and oldies”.

None of the actual music has changed. It’s still the exact same playlists and lineups as it was when I was still in high school, they’ve just adjusted their description.

Day 1 of the next training block for my next race, The Poseidon Athens Half Marathon in 12 weeks time and a visit to the gym for an easy pace 6.5km to start things off with. When we were kids, many of us also thought that we’d inherited a fucked up world from our parents (how stupid they were, the people who raised us!) and were confident that we’d fix what they’d broken.

Ha! How’d THAT work out for us? 🤦🏼

But then we finally grew up a bit and understood that we’re all doing the best we can with what we have.

Our parents knew that the world could not be set right in a single generation, so they raised us to continue the battle. And now we’ve done the same for our kids who, I’m sure, will finally come to the same understanding.

But in the meantime, they need to stop the whining. We’re embarrassed on their behalf by their pride in their own immaturity.

had a threshold and vo2 max test done at a place called The Endurance Store in Wrightington. Well pleased with vo2 max at 44.2, not bad for someone almost 61 😁 Although my LT1 and LT2 estimations were out compared to the test which gave 140 bpm and 172 bpm, my last field test gave a higher reading so some adjustments needed there #running #vo2max #thresholdtest #runnersofmastodon #oldguysrule
