From a conversation on discord, I always kinda wondered why Palladium RPGs don’t have a retro clone, but I think the answer is: it’s never been out of print (TMNT and Robotech licenses excepted).

I actually played more Palladium Fantasy than AD&D when I was young.

But Kevin is still putting out the same games 40 years later.

On monday I brought the surviving PCs from my #ShadowDark gauntlet to first level. I plan to #soloplay #Stonehell with #LabyrinthLord in 2025 and wanted to compare the B/X #DnD #retroclone to the #ShadowdarkRPG 🤠
So yesterday I rolled up four PCs for the #megadungeon as well! 🎲

I have to say that the information architecture of #LabLord was quite the challenge compared to the strait forward design of SD. 🤓
But in fairness I have to remark that I played a good year of SD, while I never did LL. 😇

I come with an important public service announcement.

The Light Fantasy Kickstarter is now open. This is my newest game, a blend of old-school rules and modern sensibilities.

It's the game for those of us who want the simplicity of older rulesets but want to play in a more modern style rather than with the old-school assumptions that normally accompany those rulesets.

Check it the Kickstarter page for more info than will fit in a toot, and feel free to ask questions.

Yay! My cover art for #LightFantasy (my latest #retroclone project) is back from the artist!

Now I've got no excuses not to stop procrastinating and organise the #Kickstarter for the game.

Day 3 of the #RPGaDAY2023 challenge. My first #ttrpg purchase this year was a FASA #StarTrek #retroclone called Vintage Space. It had the IP elements filed off and uses a d20 vs d100.

I've been thinking of running a #megadungeon as a sort of "pick up game" at a FLGS. I would show up every Saturday (or whatever day) and run the dungeon for whoever shows up to play.
What would be a good megadungeon for this sort of thing? Like I said, I'm thinking more of a "funhouse" that may or may not have a deep backstory, but doesn't rely on it. I'm not too picky about what #retroclone it's written for, but I would be using an #osr retroclone for the ruleset.
