The actual prompt was actually a bit more complex. It needed Gerstner Waves, Schlick’s Fresnel approximation, Blinn-Phong specular highlights, ACES Filmic Tone Mapping, Subsurface scattering, Fractional brownian motion, Wave grouping, Geometric splashing, Volumetric foam shading!

Very late to the party but testing out some the new @krea_ai realtime to test out different rendering techniques for quick explorations I made on houdini. Very good for pitching ideas as well as building on them. I'm going to be sharing more of my workflows here

Shoutout to @juretriglav 's "Surfel-based global illumination on the web"

Genuinely one of the best posts I have ever seen. If you are interested in #GI #wgpu or #rendering and #graphics in general, I definitely recommend it.

I love playing around with the multi-scale mean estimator :D

Surfel-based global illumination on the web

Can we use WebGPU to compute real-time global illumination with surface patches called surfels? Does it look good enough? Is it fast enough? And can we finally construct viable compute-heavy rendering pipelines right here on the open web? Join me on this journey and let's find out!

Watching AI Films On A Cinema Screen Exposed The Tech’s Huge Flaws — But Seedance 2.0 Showed Things Can Change Fast

The Chroma Awards screening unforgivingly exposed the weaknesses of AI films, but Seedance 2.0 shows how quickly the technology is developing.

Measuring SVG rendering time

The questions Is rendering large SVGs significantly slower than smaller ones? Is there a cut-off size above which things are terrible? And what if these SVGs were PNGs, just for giggles. To answer this let's generate a bunch of test images and render them! The code is here Test images A Python sc
