Martin Luther was an early Lutheran theologian. Here he describes two kinds of living. One is living for oneself. In the other, one lives for neighbor, and serves them with teaching, rebuke, and any type of help they may need.
If you listen to any Christian thought leader today, is this a summary of what you hear? Are we divided into camps of help vs. rebuke? Or worse, does the Rebuke Party totally lose it when they themselves receive a rebuke?

On October 31 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg.
I find the humanist Erasmus much more congenial than Luther, so I regret that the failure of a humanist inspired internal reform of the church empowered fanatics both Protestant and Roman Catholic .
