World Athletics Championships road events to start earlier due to heat in Tokyo

I wonder if there is anyone out there able to genuinely explain the “race walk” and how it’s an event at the #olympics?

It feels like the only sport where the competitors are _intentionally holding back the human body’s ability_ but, somehow, also trying to go as quickly as possible. It makes zero sense to me.

It feels like: “Swimming, but keep those arms of yours by your side, or you’re out!” 😵‍💫

Am very willing to be educated by anyone who knows better.

Guess who’s going to the 2024 #Paris #Olympics…

I was successful in the draw and just bought tickets to some events today. I’m very excited to attend my first #OlympicGames and to return to Paris. Some events I’ll be attending are #Athletics, #Marathon, #Weightlifting, #BeachVolleyball, #Taekwondo, #WaterPolo #RaceWalk, #MarathonSwimming and #Hockey. It was very difficult to get the tickets, they went fast.
