also worth noting is that vanilla dpup has been by far the worst linux install experience I've ever had the displeasure to suffer through. Website with broken links to obscure forums and empty github searches, constant errors downloading from github, strange file format, no documentation of any kind (much less an install guide)...

if the project sounded ANY less cool I would give up on it. but here I am at 5:30 am with yet another corrupted .img.gz file and no way to figure out if I even can build from source. #puppylinux

Now and then I like to try portable Linux distributions, which are great if you have access to computers that you don't own, and you want to be able to keep your operating system with you as you move.

Puppy Linux is one of the easier options and it's compatible with Ventoy with a little effort.
