I would’ve thought that the Justice system, the third pillar of democratic govt, was too critical to ‘outsource’ and definately not a branch of government that ought to have any of its functions #Privatised and milked for ‘#Profits’ . It’s bad enough that the legal profession is privatised leading to wealth being a determinent in the quality of legal representation one is afforded in Court and hence better legal outcomes for those represented, but Court functions #outsourced to #PrivateEnterprises should never occur. All Court processes ought to remain fully under govt funding and appropriate publicly-owned services IMO.

This case is an yet example of #StateTheft and #StateCapture brought to you by the ‘debunked’ #NeoLiberal order. The #Grifters are getting into all aspect of our democracy in order to feather their own nest and enslave the rest of us a la #Fascist #America and its #tRumpAdministration.

#Privatisation: billions from #UK #energy #bills taken in profits

Common Wealth thinktank found 24.2% of energy bill went to profits of electricity generators, networks, household suppliers in 2024

I could say productivity declined because the government(s) #privatised essential services.

We didn’t have any problems with #productivity until they did that.

The lack of efficiency and the throwing of public money to groups who didn’t provide a better service but instead paid it to CEOs and owners is what a lack of productivity is all about.

#ai is just going to be an extension of this mess.

As the economy slows and productivity flatlines, is Australia having another banana republic moment?

In 1986 Paul Keating warned the nation was headed towards economic disaster without reform. Now, Jim Chalmers faces a similar dilemma

So #Trump just #privatised the #dollar.

#GENIUSact allows stablecoins to take over what you can get for it, and the control is now in the hands of big tech.

Together with CLARITY, money laundering & bribery will increasingly define the dollar’s worth, too. And when #crypto crashes the dollar will go down with it.

But the rich will be very happy about it. They will finally get their poor domestic serf class, as cheap as chinese labour.

Trump did everything he promised. That’s how it’ll look.

Blaming #privatised #water for #sewage dumping? Here is a 1976 article from when it was in public hands. https://archive.org/details/NewsUK1978UKEnglish/Jan%2017%201978%2C%20The%20Times%2C%20%2360212%2C%20UK%20%28en%29/page/n15/mode/2up?q=pollution+sewage

A form of #pollution that is less obvious — until the moment when, swimming at sea, we are confronted by a sheet of lavatory paper—is sewage. The Coastal Anti-Pollution League considers it a “disgusting state of affairs” that a large number of sea side towns dispose of their untreated sewage far too close to land.

@AnnyJoe @Lana
And it is not even state owned, but #privatised' like many #USA #prisons. All for #money .

@mlanger
Back in the 80s all our (UK) #government run #water #companies were #privatised, thanks to right wing government dogma. The government then set up a regulator whose function was primarily to keep prices low. Of course, that didn't stop the companies paying out enormous dividends, but it did stop any investment to update the infrastructure,

The result is that, now there is some recognition that #climatechange is real, we have near bankrupt companies and #infrastructure not fit for purpose. It's not that we need the existing infrastructure repaired we need more #reservoirs and #pipelines to shift it where it's needed.

I wish there was someone who could tell me I have this wrong?

So, a #privatised postal service is raising the price again - doubling the price of 1st class in the three years of privatisation.

Shame #BBCNews couldn't be bothered to report on the dividends and exec bonuses paid in that time
