#NeoLiberals will do what neoliberals do… sell the Sate to private enterprise. They’re such #Grifting hypocrites, because I refuse to believe that they do not know that #StateCapture is harmful to society.
#Privatisation has never, in written history, benefited society and only leads to degradation of services and eventual parlous state requiring public bailouts… meanwhile #TheRich have sucked all the $$$ out of it in the process. This is a familiar merry-go-round, seen before, seeing it again, and unless things change we’ll see it again… the great golden goose that never fails to deliver to the top end of town.

Outsourcing companies frequently compete to win public contracts by reducing costs: it's a race to the bottom on the pay, terms, and conditions for their workers. This has a knock-on effect for services: for instance, hospital infections have increased under outsourced cleaning services. In its Make Work Pay plan the government committed to: 1. From the nationalist Bundniss Sarah Wagenknecht (#BSW) to the neoliberal #FDP, to the conservative right of Christian Democrat #CDU to the far right #AfD to the social democrats of the #SDP, all these parties have one thing in common. They tried to gain tracktion through their opposition to the referendum on the #traffic transition in #Berlin. All these political parties spend so much time and effort on pleasing car drivers and try to uphold an old order, instead of looking at the real social questions of this city. They dont say a word on the #housing crisis that is already going on for more then a decade and is becoming ever more extreme. Everyday problems of common people dont interest these parties, only votes. Their populism exists in the fact that they want to rule, not serve the interests of the people.
Also these parties try to make things look as opposite to each other: like BSW stating they want to fight poverty instead of cars. Stating this as if the two are mutual exclusive, which is false; or the FDP who talk about housing, but fail to mention that the few large public green spots there are, should be privatised for luxury housing. Because the houses that would be build if they get their go, are not affordable for common people.
We should get rid of all these parties and build a movement that is focused on our own interests and doesn't let these parties talk on our behalf. They aren't serving us, they serve themselves. We need to fundamentally change the housing sector and our economic model, where our needs are central, and not the profits of those owning our means to meet our needs.

the key Q. in the economics of private provision of public goods (from health care to energy provision) is:
does the opportunity to profit from services drive innovation & the development of efficiency of delivery, or;
is profit just the outcome of the willingness to cut costs, whatever the impact on services, and user satisfaction.
For supporters of privatisation the former is the analysis of choice; for critics, the evidence points unerringly to the latter.
