…What do we suppose happens to semiconductor tech when the *affordability* of the metals it needs plummets long before the metals themselves are exhausted?
Such tech, including PV, cannot be an answer to our predicament.
It could help us down the path of the power consumption ladder but it is wholly insufficient.
Because we have to choose #degrowth for it to help.
But instead we are choosing #postgrowth and mischaracterising that as ‘degrowth’ so we don’t have to look in the mirror
