Moi je peux me brosser XD
Ano, David. “#Pionus" 7/1/19, touchups on 1/4/20, #MixedMedia.
As part of #ThrowbackThursday, here is a #illustration I made at the "#drawing/#painting for adults" class at the Ann Arbor District Library taught by Payton James from the Ann Arbor Art Center. Unforcinately, I don't think they have this class anymore. This was my first illustration I ever sold on my etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/DavidAnoArtist)

The Scaly-head Pionus parrot we've been fostering since he got lost and found us during the pandemic is driving me up the damn wall this week.
He's like a 2-year-old child in CONSTANT need of attention, and when he doesn't get it, he starts misbehaving, badly, destroying everything he can get his grubby little beak on.
I can deal with the shitting. It's the screaming and screeching and destruction that I can't deal with.
It may be time to consider finding him a home where someone is home all the time and he can get all the insane quantities of attention he craves... but the prospect of interviewing people and checking out home situations to ensure that he's properly looked after is overwhelming.
(We looked in vain for ages to find his parents, with no success. I wonder if they got fed up with him too and turned him loose.)
I've been giving liquid oral medications to a miniature dinosaur for a few weeks now (he's getting better every day), and this morning when I opened his cage to get him out, he LEAPT at me. I caught him, and we're both fine, but it may be a little while before my heart rate comes back down.
#birds are so fascinating. Our white-capped #pionus broadcast a "bad bird alert" sound, and immediately our Maximilian's pionus re-broadcast the alert in his own dialect. The second bird wasn't even near a window, couldn't see the bad bird, but understood the alert and made sure it was relayed.
I've even seen this happen with sparrows alerting to something they saw, followed by our indoor birds, who saw nothing themselves, cross-species relaying to their flock.
