@kitten_tech what you're describing sounds so much like the difficult amorphic internal obstacles I'm wrestling with every day. I really appreciate how you're doing internal investigation- to discern challges and work around them. All we can do is keep trying different strategies, right?

I don't know your details- for me, I'm pretty sure my chronic illnesses are part of it. But I'm pretty sure it's mostly my PDA Autism (and burnout). Maybe it's relevant 4u too? #PathologicalDemandAvoidance

Hackers have clearly never met me.

The Role of Perfectionism in Pathological Demand Avoidance

Pathological demand avoidance, a strategy often used by perfectionists to manage inner turmoil, may be based on extreme self-doubt and self-loathing.

Psychology Today
I just learned about pathological demand avoidance and I think I found my flavor of autism. Just reading about it so many things clicked into perspective for me. I don’t know what that means for me yet but my world feels a bit lighter tonight and maybe for the first time there’s hope that someday I won’t feel like an imposter for simply existing.

This is exactly like #pda stepson Zs behaviour during a meltdown: a complete inability to do what she’s told; physical and verbal abuse to resist; trying to push all of the buttons to make the officers lose their sh!t. I relate so hard to the officers’ predicament. When Z has a meltdown like this it’s so hard. Do you think this is a pda meltdown or just the behaviour of a ‘spoiled brat that’s never been told no’?

#Pathological #Demand #Avoidance (PDA) Misconceptions

#Pathologicaldemandavoidance (#PDA) is most often seen in people with #autism, but certain traits also have been seen with people with #ADHD and other sensory processing #disorders. In this video I will talk about what PDA is, why it's often searched with ADHD and autism, strategies that can help those with pathological #demandavoidance, and what it's like living with PDA.
