Interesting use of #drones to find and estimate the population of homeless encampments in desert areas. I have a lot of questions about the methods and how longitudinal the data are. Most people are going to see the 2024 increase of 42% and think it's more than the 2025 decrease of 33%, but really the net is smaller population than before. Los Angeles County sent out an WEA alert for the exact area I just pointed out with many people trapped by flooding. Hope people think twice about traveling out there... so many people trapped already, I suspect they'll be out there all night, not a lot of rescue resources that direction.
