In celebration of @georgepenney 's recent book launch, of Tiny Moments of Joy, let me tell you about my impressions of her first book - a collaboration with Tony Johnson. #OverLondon is a city - a flying city - full of cogs and artificers, intrigue and villains, cesspits and sewers, larger and smellier than life itself.

I really like the Trinkets, they're very cool and remind me of some of the tiny clanks from the Girl Genius comics sometimes, although they are their own original and creative creatures!

Well imagined, and with a detailed world that stands up to scrutiny I believe that this work, full of hilarity and yet a window into the souls of some very human and likeable people has brought us to the discovery of a new subgenre.

With its bubbling alchemy and occasionally exploding priests, snotty urchins, running gutters and shining contrivances I believe, my most good folks, we have here what can only be called #SteamPonk .

OverLondon is fantastic. It's delightfully quirky, funny, and queer.

If you've not yet read it, I highly recommend it.

If you have already read it, I highly recommend it for a re-read. I'm going to go queue up my copy now to re-read after I've finished my current Sanderson re-read.

Just finished #OverLondon by @georgepenney and Tony Johnson. It channeled #TerryPratchet in a big (and good!) way—very silly, lots of fantastic wordplay, and was a fun mystery with complex characters. Looking forward to the next book!
