When I was young, I liked to read.
But now I see no pressing need
To make the effort. All the more
Fruitless it seems when some old lore
Or piece of wisdom resonates
With my beliefs, or generates
A question: I have books of myth…
But no one to discuss them with.

去年元夜時，花市燈如晝，
Last year, the day of the first full moon, the flower market lights were as bright as daylights.
月到柳梢頭，人約黃昏後。
When the moon hangs on top of the willow, after subset, we have promised to meet.
今年元夜時，月與燈依舊，
This year, the day of the first full moon, it seems the moonlight and market lights the same.
不見去年人，淚濕春衫袖。
I don't see the person who I promised last year, my sleeves bedewed with tears.

작년 정월 대보름 밤 꽃 시장 등불 대낮처럼 밝았었지요.
月到柳梢頭，人約黃昏後。
달이 버드나무 꼭대기에 걸렸을 때
황혼이 진 후 그 이와 만나자 약속했었지요.
今年元夜時，月與燈依舊，
올해 정월 대보름 밤 달과 등불은 예전과 같건만
不見去年人，淚濕春衫袖。
작년의 그 사람 보이지 않아 눈물로 옷소매를 적셔요.

구양수의 둘째부인이 썼을거라고도 추정하는 시다. 그렇게 뺏은 시가 이거 하나 였을까? 등려군이 음을 붙여 부른 노래 인약황혼후 ( 황혼이 진 후 만나기로 한 사람) 로도 유명하다.
