The Beatles broke onto the British music scene in the same year that my mother's waters broke and I was born. I may not have been conscious of them, but I'm sure they were playing in the background on BBC Radio. 📻

I don’t think I’ve really shared it here, but a few years ago I was a pretty avid watch modder. Specifically with automatic movements. I just really like the idea of all those tiny gears and springs working in harmony to keep time. It’s an aesthetic thing I guess.

This homage here is based on the Panerai Luminor line of watches. It uses a fairly inexpensive (but beautiful imho) Chinese movement that keeps really good time. I bought the case, dial, hands, bracelet, and movement separately and put them together.

I don’t hate smartwatches, it’s just that I already have a computer in my pocket, I don’t need one on my wrist.
