I’m hoping someone out there can help me or direct me to a resource about setting up WireGuard on OPNsense. I’m behind CGNAT and want to remotely access my home network so I have a cloud VPS. I am able to get a handshake between the the endpoints but cannot do anymore than that. Halp!

I remember running a SSG5. ScreenOS was a step up from the iptables thing I was running. It got replaced with a Cisco ASA, and that was replaced with an SRX

#opnsense replaced the SRX300 I still have. This is a massive upgrade in some ways, but I miss things about JunOS (taking forever to boot on the SRX210 and SRX300 is not one of them)

Overall, OPNsense is a big firewall improvement.

My #ipfire #router running on #raspberrypi was getting too hot and I was seeing bad performance so I migrated it to a #vm on my #proxmox #homelab #server. In between the migration I spent two days on #opnsense. While I liked the matured GUI, I hated the amount of configuration I had to do to set up pppoe or QoS and the performance was equal to the pi. The primary issue was pppoe dropping and not reconnecting automatically. I had ipfire running in two mins, very happy.

is there a way to auto migrate config from #pfsense to #opnsense ? looks like pfsense will need very long till #zabbix 7.4 proxy is available and maybe this is a event to check out opnsense.

Getting my DIY #OPNSense router going using that old ITX board I found. The only thing I bought so far is the dual 10G Ethernet card and a case. Everything else is junkbox discovery!
