Service management, as I mentioned, began as the domain of the much older Service Access Facility, which comes from #Unix S5R4 in 1988.

The #Illumos manual page for the sacadm command (for one) is dated 1992, and the Illumos #ServiceAccessFacility dates back to the days of #Solaris 2.

The use of sacadm/pmadm/ttyadm/nlsadmin in Illumos et al. is the same now as it was when Æleen Frisch wrote about them for Solaris 2 in xyr book in 1995.

USD and crowds. My crowd isn't showing up when I do a SOP Crowd Import in lops. I see it in the graph but not in the viewport. Everything set to defaults. If I crack open the SOP crowd import and put an unpack in front of it, then it works . Painful. I'm not packing before export, its just packed normally from the crowd sim. What am I missing? #houdini #usd #solaris

I love wearing #logowear: promotional t-shirts and other items, for products and projects I like. #syslog_ng, #IBM, #OneIdentity, @turris, @opensuse and many more. Yesterday I was at a #Solaris concert (not the operating system, but the #progrock band), and chose to wear something not IT-related. Imagine my surprise: other than some #music t-shirts, I have seen tons of IT-related clothing at this fantastic #concert 🙂
