BSD Conference in NL

On Saturday, 9th of May, there is the Spring edition of BSD-NL  Our lovely BSD conference, held in the Netherlands. Or more specifically, in Utrecht - which is the centre of our little country.

Do you use the BSDs in any way - whether personally, professionally? Everyone with even the slightest interest into the BSDs is welcome, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned maintainer/contributor  There will be a couple of talks/presentations, plenty of room and time to hack - and to socialize if that is your thing

So: grab a ticket, join the awesomeness: BSDNL.nl  And follow @bsd_nl

BSD-NL โ€” BSD-NL

Li aiuta a continuare.

FreeBSD as a Desktop in 2026 โ€“ Surprisingly Good! (BSD for Beginners)

I tried out the live environment of GhostBSD's Gershwin Community preview. There's a lot of work to be done, and I hope it'll get there. The MATE and Xfce images set a very high bar for a project that really has no equals at this point. https://www.ghostbsd.org/download

VIM

Bram Molenaar

human programming

Background

It has come to my attention that my beloved VIM has become invested with LLM AI slop

The lead programmer is not following standard rules of coding anymore.

People have called him many things, but one thing is certain. The man is intelligent in the programming field and knows what he wants.

VIM needs LLM slop!

the programmer screams!

We don't think so!

we roar back!!!

A couple of programmers decided to create a hard fork of vim

VIM

  • version V9.1.0 January 2K24
  • last commit
  • no LLM slop
  • Pure Bram Molenaar level human crafted code

If you are categorically against large language model slop this is a project for you to support!

This is a hard Fork meaning that you cannot merge it back with me VIM main source line
