The latest iteration of my #PCB to replace the tail lights in my #EV #Mustang arrived earlier from JLC. Looks like 5th times the charm. I managed to actually get this version to do something.

iBooster all wired up with minimal swearing and, in what seems like a minor miracle, the thing actually works. I guess it’s been sitting on the shelf so long I started to worry the thing was a dud.

This is about where it’ll go on the battery box lid. That’s about as tight as it can get to the edge while still having enough clearance inside. I’d like to leave as much room as I can on the lid for other junction boxes.

Also did some #CAD (cardboard aided design) work on the cutout for the mid pack disconnect. I’ll need the opening for removable bit, the location of the retaining bolts, but also the cutout where the fuse bulge is.

Only got a few little bits done on the #EV #mustang today. First was replacing the rear air shocks. The right one wasn’t inflating and that side of the car was sagging down as a result. So I replaced both. You can see the skinny little tubes for inflating/deflating them.

Did a little clearance check as well to make sure I've not mis-measured somewhere. There's at least a hand of space between the HVJB and the hood.

Here it is in place in the enginge bay with the HVJB (high voltage junction box) sitting on top. Looks pretty good.

I still need some sort of anchors to lift the box with (it will weight almost 100kg when it's fully assembled). I'm thinking about getting 4 u-bolts and welding them to the top of the frame (and cut out little notches in the lid).

I'll also need a few tabs on the bottom somewhere to bolt it in.

We have accomplished enclosure. My battery box is now an actual box - with sides and a top and everything!

I'll get some wide, stainless washers to cover up the slightly 'imperfect' holes.

I only got one side done today. But pretty happy with it. The rest will go quicker now that I have the process down.
