So, I’ve had a few extended exchanges with people who didn’t vote in some recent elections. I’ve come away from them really unsatisfied because the things people say just don’t add up for me. I’ve been thinking about it and I’m left with two questions:

What do vote abstainers think not voting accomplishes? As in; what’s the pay-off, the plus in not voting?

Second, what do abstainers think the cost of voting is? As in; what harm or cost is the non-voter avoiding by refusing a ballot?

These are questions I’ve not heard an answer to that makes sense to me, so if you’ve got one, please let me know!

I'm not prepared to lay all the blame at Dutton's feet. That's reification and scapegoating. There are a multitude of bad actors making for a horrible Australia in the 2020s. #NoVote

unnecessary bump in bike lane

for a few months there's been a bulge in the bike lane on Miller West of Newport. Looks like it might be some previous repair? I now see it is marked with the pink outline in the letter B, so I'm hopeful that it will be flattened, but remembered to file this issue just in case.
