Il sindaco di Crans-Montana, Nicolas Féraud, è stato iscritto nel registro degli indagati dalla procura del Vallese nel corso delle indagini sull’incendio avvenuto nella notte di Capodanno al locale ‘Le Constellation‘, costato la vita a 41 persone, tra cui 6 ragazzi italiani, e 115 feriti. Féraud è ora indagato per molteplici reati assieme ad altre quattro persone.
A riportare la notizia sono i giornali del gruppo svizzero Tamedia, che raccontano che l’estensione dell’inchiesta penale sarebbe partita dalla Procura del Vallese lo scorso 5 marzo. Il sindaco di Crans-Montana è ora indagato per incendio doloso colposo, omicidio colposo, lesioni personali gravi colpose e violazioni delle responsabilità e degli obblighi imposti dalla legge sui comuni in relazione alla protezione contro gli incendi e gli eventi naturali.
A fine gennaio era stata presentata una denuncia penale contro il primo cittadino della località vallese da parte di due avvocati che rappresentano una vittima gravemente ustionata e i suoi genitori. Oltre a Féraud sono quattro le persone coinvolte nell’estensione dell’inchiesta: i nuovi indagati, tutti con ruoli di spicco nell’amministrazione del comune vallese, sono Kévin Barras, consigliere in giunta con incarichi sulla sicurezza, oggi deputato supplente nel Parlamento vallese, Pierre Albéric Clivaz, Rudy Tissières e Baptiste Cotter, tutti con passate o attuali deleghe sui controlli tra Crans e Chermignon, municipio poi annesso al primo.

Crans-Montana tragedy, mayor investigated for the New Year’s Eve fire that cost 41 lives.

The mayor of Crans-Montana, Nicolas Féraud, has been included in the list of investigated persons by the Valais prosecutor’s office as part of the investigation into the fire that occurred on New Year’s Eve at the ‘Le Constellation’ venue, which cost the lives of 41 people, including 6 Italian teenagers, and 115 injured. Féraud is now being investigated along with four other people for multiple offenses.

The news was reported by the Swiss Tamedia group’s newspapers, which report that the scope of the criminal investigation began with the Valais Prosecutor’s Office on March 5th. The mayor of Crans-Montana is now being investigated for negligent manslaughter, serious negligent injury, violations of responsibilities and obligations imposed by law on municipalities regarding fire protection and natural disasters.

A criminal complaint was filed against the town mayor of the Valais locality in late January by two lawyers representing a seriously burned victim and his parents. In addition to Féraud, four people are involved in the expansion of the investigation: the new suspects, all with prominent roles in the Valais municipal administration, are Kévin Barras, councilor in the government with responsibilities for security, today a substitute deputy in the Valais Parliament, Pierre Albéric Clivaz, Rudy Tissières and Baptiste Cotter, all with past or current mandates on controls between Crans and Chermignon, municipality then attached to the first.
