This is a collection of #jazz standards sung and played by Dorham. Whilst his singing isn’t really my thing, the playing is bang on.
#NewLand have done a great job with the package - high quality sleeves, perfect pressing, and mastered by #KevinGray.
In you’re new to #Dorham, start with #QuietKenny. But if you’re a fan, this is worth having.
Just to add that this set is put out by #NewLand & restored and remastered by #PeteReynolds (I am unfamiliar with his work).
Given that the set doesn’t state otherwise (and I did ask New Land, but didn’t receive a reply), I’m assuming it’s not AAA - I wonder if the restoration was done in the digital domain.
There are a few drop outs in places (on the first track of side B, for example, the sax fades right out & then back in). But it’s live, early 60s, & I didn’t find it distracting.
So, low income families get subsidized internet at a price point where other countries have plenty of unsubsidized offers?
