Coal tits!

I didn't have a clear shot to post until now; I have a load since it's gotten lighter and warm enough to sit out back for a while. Spoilt now; more below...
- Cheeky look.
- Up with the cherry blossoms.

Nine blue tit eggs now! Mum is sitting on them most of time since yesterday. #nature #ukbirds
Two new birds for my telephoto collection! Town and country theme:
- Pied Wagtail, I've only found fleetingly in the new estate.
- Treecreeper, scuttling uncannily up a bow, on the way back around, above a quiet path by the supermarket.

Seven blue tit eggs now! Last year there were nine and the first chick hatched on April 27th. In other previous years they hatched early May. I'm hoping there will be more eggs by the end of the week. #nature #ukbirds #springwatch

ROBIN! My first S-teir photos with this cheap old telephoto.

Cheeky wee birdie did a whole darn fashion show for me, at minimum focal range, atop a post near the back door were I'd crouched briefly.

Red kite update - I caught 6+ sightings after this (on bike & at home): https://x.com/Z3R0Gravitas/status/2033842045425422558

Mostly same bird, left wing missing a feather. Sadly only up in plain skies. But once passing seagulls. Once with 2 friends (1 in shot).

Was watching the female blue tit on my (quite old) nest cam. She was restless last night. Two eggs this morning! Hopefully more to come #nature #ukbirds

Siskin (Spinus spinus) - a very rare sighting for us; I caught this male on the seeds.

Google says they're more common in Scotland & Wales, increasing here in England thanks to conifer plantations and N. European winter migrants.
