I had a blast in Corning at the Glass Art Society #conference It was mainly catching up with people who I met awhile back at #glass school or traveling, before getting distracted by other people met in a similar way and catching up with them :) . I helped my friend MolMol give a wearable neon demonstration.
Any time I go to #Corning it is surreal to see my #sculpture on display there. Its really neat -every now an then I get a photo from someone of them with this.
Corning has an annoying no mercury rule in their new neon shop. They do have #color furnaces and Corning Inc did make the holy grail of American neon reds- "Oxblood ruby" - out of production since the 1950s. I want to make it in a furnace and I got info from the #librarians about who maybe to contact to get the formula from Corning Inc .The Rakow did have other glass formulas, and this old neon tube catalog with a list of old Corning colors (it would be nice to have the formula's for all of these)
