Today, off and on, I’ve been watching the NDP convention on CPAC, while checking in on my Mastodon timeline. I suppose I’m in an echo chamber of sorts, but it’s one based on mutual respect and support and love. And I’m ok with that.

@herroyalmelness it would be interesting to see the dollar value of the line item for all the court battles their policies get them into - especially the ones they lose.
Imagine that - a government that writes laws can't / won't follow the letter of the law ... 🤔
And why do taxpayers have to for the bill for their ineptness? The party should pay those legal bills from their own coffers. Your choice - your cost.
First cuts at TCDSB have happened under their “supervision” laying off 77 CUPE 3155 language instructors basically wiping out the local. No more language learning during the week.

An intensive literacy program for young students struggling with their reading development will cease to exist at the Toronto Catholic School Board after it was cut by the provincially-appointed board supervisor in an effort to save money.

“Four months after the Ontario government banned automated speed enforcement cameras, there has been a ‘significant uptick’ in speeding in school zones in Ottawa, according to the head of the city’s Public Works and Infrastructure Committee.”
Doug knew better that putting up big school zone signs indicating the 40 kph speed limit would be more effective than speed cameras.

Military/NATO spending is nothing more than Simping For Oil & Gas in a stupid haircut.
Canada should be spending Billions on Health Care, on Education, On Green Energy, on Public Transit at all levels, on Housing every single Canadian!

Wilhoit’s Law:
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
“Ontario’s education minister defended a letter he sent to school boards earlier this week, calling for graduation ceremonies to be ‘strictly student-centred, apolitical, inclusive and respectful.’
++++++++++++
Calandra warned in his letter that if boards failed to meet his expectations, he would not hesitate to use every tool available to him ‘to ensure that students are always put first.’”
Except when it comes to giving all students a chance at achieving their goal of attending higher education by cutting OSAP grants because Doug’s heard stories of them sometimes being used to buy watches and other things not related to education.
Just watch school boards get punished if students protest the cuts to OSAP during their graduation ceremony.
