I've been listening to this comedy Dungeons and Dragons podcast (NADDpod) for quite a while now, and they're now doing a campaign where the PCs are purposely the worst pieces of shit they can imagine. And of course, they (the piece of shit characters, not the actual players) are now huge fans of AI.

The reason I bring this up is to remind y'all that it's not just us fedinerds that think only the worst pieces of shit actually like AI slop.

I genuinely enjoy listening to actual play #DnD podcasts like #NADDPOD and #ThreeBlackHalflings, but I really don't care for Dungeons & Dragons 5e itself. (I'm also not a fan of how it limits the number of skills players have and limiting who gets extra melee attacks, but that's a whole different thing)

There are too many feats and powers for my liking and I hear a lot of talk about builds and min/maxing characters.

That's my least favorite part of the game. Give me a simple game to work out the person I'm embodying and let me loose.

The less I have to search through a character sheet looking at all the options, the happier I tend to be.

Note: I am NOT disparaging that particular playstyle. It just doesn't tickle my fancy.

The #naddpod Tortle Tank is quite hilarious and just eye roll fabulous

I just finished the latest issue/session of my #MasksANewGeneration #TTRPG for my players. This is the penultimate session of the trade/campaign. I love getting to use comic book terminology to describe the game.

The NPC sister of the alien catgirl player has been moving in the background, trying to take out the heroes and their parents. It's a whole thing where the player's character ran from her arranged marriage to another dimension. The team decided the best way to flush out the sister was to stage an award ceremony, trying to draw her out into an open conflict.

Instead, the players had to deal with a building that was struck by a meteorite flung by a mass driver and another, larger one flung at the parent's spaceship. They had to split the team and defeat both threats at the same time.

It was a blast to run. I've been listening to a lot of #NADDPOD and pulled some tricks I learned listening to Brian "Murph" Murphy run his games. I think it really elevated the encounters.

I love the emotional high after a well run session. My players are absolutely awesome.

The #dnd podcast #naddpod sticks in ones brain. I was reading passing trucks branding as character names from it while waiting for the bus...
I think I've been listening to too much #NADDpod as I just named an inn "the growling grinch".
I found out via a destiel confession meme, btw.
i'm still relistening and catching up to ba2mia but [a]. quivering. shaking in my boots even. I'm so excited I can't wait to hear what the dynamic is like.
