Last Friday, I completed the latest campaign/trade for my #MasksANewGeneration #TTRPG. I reused old villains as my continuity's Thunderbolts/Su*cide Squad as "Lightning Squad". One player was caught flatfooted by some of my choices, especially as one of the villains she chummed up with was the one who paralyzed her sister in game.

I'm going to get to take a bit of a break, but I left it with a cliffhanger where I can pick back up with my universe's Manhunter robots about to invade earth.

Gotta love superhero TTRPGs!

One more attempt to actually finish this #MasksANewGeneration campaign tonight.

We keep getting obstacles thrown at us to keep us from meeting, but I'm hoping that tonight, we can put the story to bed so I can plan for the next campaign and get a little break as a player.

Not new, but I believe we'll finish the current campaign/trade in my #MasksANewGeneration game. After that, another player has said he's willing to run for a bit so I can take a GM break. Looking forward to changing things up for a bit!

Also hoping to make some more progress on the #Pathfinder game on Sunday. It's been fun, but I'm ready to move on to something less crunchy for a bit.

Tonight's #MasksANewGeneration game went well. The team has starting to put the pieces together and finally started to realize that Lighting Squad just happens to be this world's version of The Thunderbolts/Suicide Squad. Next session should wrap up this trade nicely.

One of my players was mad that she didn't pick up on the hints earlier after we all went to see Thunderbolts in the theater together. Of course I'm basing his group after the "reformed" villains with new identities version from the comics, not the movie.

It's nice how easy it is to be able to reuse villains when your heroes don't kill.

Going to give this whole #TTRPG weekend sessions another go. I should have #MasksANewGeneration tonight and #Pathfinder #RiseOfTheRunelords on Sunday, as long as things don't go sideways on us again.

Another wonderful session of #MasksANewGeneration tonight. One character changed playbooks as she leveled up into some major changes and some amazing parallels with the issue/session's villain.

I love how these #PBtA games let players ask questions as their actionsnand hownit forces me to answer tough questions and solidify NPC motivations mid session. It's really added a lot to my #GM skills.

Sadly no gaming again this weekend. We've really had a hard time at getting sessions to happen regularly lately. It's really hard to keep focus and interest in the #MasksANewGeneration game and I really just want to see the #Pathfinder adventure path to its conclusion so I can move on to something different.

I asked my #MasksANewGeneration players if they were okay with me running a holiday-themed session/issue. They said it sounded fun to them.

They came in last night expecting a one shot dealing with Krampus to something like that.

Instead, I ran them through a campaign-related issue that had ties to Home Alone, Die Hard, and A Christmas Carol.

@IcarusGames

We've got our #MasksANewGeneration game tonight and #Pathfinder on Sunday.

Last night, I ran my #MasksANewGeneration #TTRPG game (yes, I know that comes out to ...game game).

I'm really pushing myself as a GM with this game. The session ("issue" to keep with comic book parlance) had a lot more interpersonal drama moments than I usually include. Between two married characters with major avoidance and communication issues, one character visiting with her mentor about whether her current team is holding her back from being the best she could be, or teammates pulling together when the going gets tough, it was really satisfying.

Plus I'm setting up the main antagonist plot-line in the background. This campaign/trade, I'm trying to emulate a mastermind pulling all kinds of strings, keeping heroes off balance, while the villains steal all kinds of valuable technology. And I have to make it seem plausible.

Yep, I'm definitely testing my limits this time.
