I genuinely enjoy listening to actual play #DnD podcasts like #NADDPOD and #ThreeBlackHalflings, but I really don't care for Dungeons & Dragons 5e itself. (I'm also not a fan of how it limits the number of skills players have and limiting who gets extra melee attacks, but that's a whole different thing)

There are too many feats and powers for my liking and I hear a lot of talk about builds and min/maxing characters.

That's my least favorite part of the game. Give me a simple game to work out the person I'm embodying and let me loose.

The less I have to search through a character sheet looking at all the options, the happier I tend to be.

Note: I am NOT disparaging that particular playstyle. It just doesn't tickle my fancy.

@davidnjoku very cool, thank you!

I only ask because I recently started listening to the first campaign from #ThreeBlackHalflings - a #DAndD campaign, but based fully in a variety of African mythos instead of eurocentric mythos, and that has sent me down the rabbit hole of legends, myths and lore outside of what I grew up with. There's a lot to be learnt about cultural values from the myths and storied people raise their kids with yknow?
