MAP afterschool student proudly presents his virtual piano creation, built using Music Blocks!
Check it out: https://youtu.be/cQd1bYygY5Q
With the help of event handlers (a concept in computation), he performs Beethoven's iconic "Ode to Joy" melody. This video is a great example of what can be achieved when students are encouraged to build their own tools, using music theory and computer science!

Check out this Indonesian melody project in Music Blocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Te1MG9FMHY
It showcases a melody in various permutations, such as inverted and retrograde, The captivating melody is a pentatonic subset of the Locrian mode, using pitches E, F, G, B, and C. Enjoy!

I used Music Blocks today to figure out a complicated rhythm (3/4 divided into eight equal divisions and then back into 3/4).
Here's a video of me doing it: https://youtu.be/Tiw-tV-YCXM

As performed today at Malden Porchfest: https://youtu.be/MaSbyMEnvF0?si=Poq6364vEWtxIVhX
Fun fact: I arranged the piece myself, and I used Music Blocks and GNU Lilypond to transcribe the entire piece that we performed today.
I'll try to put a version on my website as soon as I can.

In celebration of starting our second year of mentoring for DMP (Code for GovTech (C4GT)), Shubham Singh and @pikurasa created this: https://youtu.be/b9uZ8ZKWO-A 🎇 🎇 🎇
Everything you see in the video is code in Music Blocks, run in real time. The animation frames were designed and created in Figma by Shubham. Enjoy!

Today, I was able to test the audio-to-midi service that Music Blocks contributors made last summer together with my students. Here's what they made:
* "Music Blocks Band" by four of my students (group project): https://musicblocks.sugarlabs.org/index.html?id=1744917848164324&run=True
* "Sigma Boy" by Wesley: https://musicblocks.sugarlabs.org/index.html?id=1744919173856994&run=True
(Just like this post whether or not you understand it. The kids did great!)
They also made a video that I hope to share later.
