To support this work and continue achieving more in 2026, Sugar Labs relies on donations to fund its operations, new initiatives, and maintenance of Constructionist learning tools. There are several ways to make a financial contribution:

* Support Sugar Labs through Benevity or PayPal, which offer convenient and secure donation options.
In 2025, Sugar Labs made significant progress in various projects. We participated in Google Summer of Code (GSoC), Dedicated Mentorship Program (DMP) and Sugar Summer of Code (SSoC). We mentored seventeen students, creating some innovative new learning tools together with the mentees, documenting our work on our website and on YouTube.
We also partnered with DataKind to better understand our impact, and we plan to use the results of our self-reflective research to steer our work going forward.
We just released our latest issue of The Sweet Spot, our newsletter for Sugar Labs news and events.
Participate in our Fall board elections, help shape our future by completing our contributor survey. Also read about how we added dark mode to our (new!) homepage and a summary of exploring gen-AI in education through live conversations.

One of our rising contributors recently shared his work at this year's GNOME.Asia Summit. Please join us in congratulating Krish Pandya ( @mostlyk ) on his successful presentation, showing the power of open-source collaboration and innovation! Krish Pandya's work on GTK4 and Sugar Desktop is a shining example of the impact that Sugar Labs can have on the world.
Join us in celebrating this achievement and stay tuned for more exciting updates from the Sugar Labs team!
