Limiting my response to SF as such, for the past few years my favorite has been the #Murderbot series by Martha Wells.
A noirish, competent narrator in a well-envisioned SF world. (Hammett in space?)
The TV adaptation, very well done, is different in some interesting ways.
Unlike some people, I found the audio books jarring after having read the books in text mode: the voice was just... wrong.
