Aaahhhh!!!

My friends! The first part of their plural SecUnit/Murderbot fanfic is starting to go up! Two chapters today, and new chapters will be posted twice a week until all nineteen of part 1 are up.

The series is called Multiplicity Protocols, and Part 1 is Recursive Systems. Their name on AO3 is genderhexed.

They started writing before Platform Decay came out, so even though this technically takes place "after" the book series the version I read had no spoilers for Platform Decay. But I think they intend to work in the odd reference here and there. I haven't seen the final edit. Once it's up entirely I'll go through and do more promoting but with added notes about possible PD spoilers, if any. There might not be any, they haven't tagged for it.

Please if you're into the book series and this sounds interesting, go check it out!

3. Welche Phantastik-Autor*innen würdest du gerne einmal in einer Bar oder in einem Café treffen?
Ich würde gern mal mit Martha Wells über ihre Reihe „The Murderbot Diaries“ sprechen, die mir sehr gut gefällt.

Is _Network Effect_ the best Murderbot, or just the best #Murderbot I've gotten to in my current re-read?

Blog - #Books in May 2026

TL;DR: Last month saw me read 1,652 pages (10,626 pages in 2026) and 7 books (43 in 2026). This is down on my normal month, mainly driven by roleplaying book reading, plus getting distracted revisiting #TheLovecraftInvestigations podcast rather than finishing the audiobook I was listening to on longer journeys.

Three fiction book, four roleplaying. Fiction included the latest #Murderbot and Ted Chiang's #Exhalation

First 5 star read of the year, and a 5+ too!

Note to self: you might want to review your self imposed rule to draw book covers. And I thought Project Hail Mary was a hard one 😆

That did not work out as planned. I figured I'd read a couple more chapters of the new Murderbot, then do some chores and have more chapters to read after dinner. But I forgot to stop reading and now I have to figure out what to read next.

ETA: Started back at All Systems Red for a full reread because, of course. But I suspect you guessed I would do that!

I finally cashed in a trial offer of Apple TV and watched the first season of Murderbot. It's a pitch perfect adaptation, and Skarsgård is dead on as the socially-anxious security cyborg who just wants to be left alone to watch its shows.

Murderbot Season 1 - Review

A pitch-perfect adaptation of All Systems Red. Alexander Skarsgård is dead on as the socially-anxious security cyborg who just wants to be left alone to watch its shows, but has to protect its humans from alien creatures, their own naivete, and rival corporations willing to kill.
