We went and saw the Redgum Years at the Astor. It was *excellent* and we are fortunate it came to Perth. Just tweaking the words here and there and still just as relevant today as then.

John Schumann is still singing and writing with the Vagabonds, and recently he released a song called Fishing Net in the Rain which he also played that night. Powerful and recommended.

You might have heard a song called "A Walk In The Light Green (I was only 19)" That's the Redgum song that gave a human face to the suffering of the then unsung servicemen of the Vietnam War and basically was directly instrumental in recognising their service and finally giving them a welcome home parade in 1987.

He said to us never let anyone tell you music doesn't have the power to change the world.

Recently we saw the locally written Monopoly: The Unauthorized Musical.
It ran for twice as long as they expected, with sold out shows, and it's going to do both the Perth and Adelaide Fringe. After that, who knows, maybe even Edinburgh from what I hear.

It's highly polished and Broadway worthy, and will appeal to gamers and everyone else. Hilarious and catchy, I recommend it highly, and will be watching it again at Fringe.

Watch for the meeple!

I enjoyed GRADS production of Rosencrantz and Guilderstern are Dead last night at the New Fortune.

Solid work and very entertaining.

Super energetic performance from Alex Comstock who played Rosencrantz and Thomas Dimmik who was Guilderstern.

Stoppard's witty bantering lines are always a hoot in this one. And be sure to look out for Jeff Watkins and the intensely intriguing master of the Players.

Just a semiperiodical heads up that Swancon - #WesternAustralia 's beloved Science Fiction and #Fantasy #SpeculativeFiction volunteer run convention will be turning the big 50 next year, wow!

In keeping with this spectacular achievement, a spectacular venue - the beautiful Pagoda Hotel and spa.

In addition, it's recently announced that Swancon50 will be the National SF Convention for Australia, which brings in Tansy Rayner Roberts (Livia Day) as Guest of Honour! The other Guests of Honour are not to be sneezed at either!

This is community run event, as always, staffed entirely by volunteers. There will be panels, discussions, workshops, games and costumes, dancing and singing with a friendly and inclusive atomosphere.
