From Vampires to Super Heroes Coward shows the historical background to these mythic characters and both how they were used as both a cautionary tale of queer love and inspiration for queers to see themselves in the world. I love McFadden. She always shows the underside of men and women of a certain type. You completely support her anti-heroes doing the most unthinkable things. Debbie protects her family,and herself, and that seems almost charming. McFadden's books always have twists, I did not see this one coming, so that says a lot. #goodreads

The title I read was The Sisters Next Door which was the reprint title. Two sisters reluctantly move into the home where their mother was murdered and are hiding from their past. The thriller was ok, but not anything specifically outstanding. It kept my interest and I finished. #goodreads

After finishing book number 27 for the year, and continuing my commitment to reread all of the James Bond novels, this becomes my next challenge.

By definition, if you have a favourite book in a series, then you also have to have a least favourite book. This is quite possibly the title holder of my least favourite Bond novel, and the sooner I get it out of the way, the sooner I can get started on some of Gardner’s better contributions to the series.
