Is the LDP’s catch-all approach to politics still effective?

With smaller, more ideologically unified parties gaining voter support, some critics say the LDP should split into different groups.

@juergen_hubert @Relaxedmale @jeffjarvis Thank you for pointing out this-I see that many bots and Musky minions can not grasp what a functioning #multiparty democracy is. Not the whole world is an #oligrachy like #USA
for liboprf i try to implement the robust multiparty multiplication from Genarro,Rabin,Rabin '98. I struggle with implementing a check (the paper calls VSPS property). I asked the original authors 2 months ago, but they don't reply - i guess they're busy. I wrote up the relevant part of the paper, and my confusion and questions in this simple text (best viewed with a fixed with font!): https://ctrlc.hu/~stef/vsps_check.mail.txt - any help would be appreciated.

The multi-party democracies of Europe show us how opening up the political field can help thwart fascism.

A big different between #India and #Indonesia - genuine #multiparty #democracy = voters actually had a choice to vote against #Modi #BJP (or against Congress).

Indonesians never got a real choice.

Opposition alliance that aimed to oust #Modi appears to be cracking just before India’s elections.

#India has a first-past-the-post #multiparty electoral system in which the candidate who receives the most votes wins.

Riven by rivalries, political defections and ideological clashes, #INDIAalliance, formed to defeat #BharatiyaJanataParty, is in shambles.

Modi is on the rise after he opened a #Hindu temple in #Ayodhya, fulfilling his #HinduNationalist pledge.

The opposition alliance that aimed to oust Modi appears to be cracking just before India's elections

India’s beleaguered opposition parties, which are beset with ideological differences and personality clashes, joined hands last year to unseat popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi and defeat his ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral juggernaut. That alliance appears to be cracking just ahead of general elections in which Modi is eyeing a third consecutive term in power. Riven by internal rivalries, political defections and lack of agreements on seat-sharing, the opposition is disintegrating at a time when Modi’s popularity has surged after he opened a Hindu temple in northern Ayodhya city, fulfilling his party’s long-held Hindu nationalist pledge. National elections in India are expected over a period of staggered voting in April and May.

Pakistan's former premier Sharif and allies agree to form a coalition

The party of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and its allies have announced they will jointly form a coalition government. Tuesday's much-awaited decision ends the uncertainty since last week when no party won a simple majority in the national elections. The latest development came hours after the rivals of the country’s imprisoned former premier Imran Khan met in the capital, Islamabad. The meeting was attended by almost all the rivals of Khan, including Shehbaz Sharif, the younger brother of Nawaz Sharif who replaced Khan when he was ousted through a no-confidence vote in parliament in 2022.
