Jetzt spielen #Mokoomba im #HKW. Das hat jetzt deutlich mehr Rock-Vibes, und ist sehr groovy. Der Saal hat sich auch etwas mehr gefüllt, was schön ist.

Mokoomba is an Afrofusion band from Zimbabwe who captures southern African musical traditions, more specifically, traditional Tongan music, They sing in a variety of languages spoken in the country. Their vocal harmonies, lighter touch on the rhythms, call and response singing, and ridiculously rich melodies that have regional kinship with the kind of music that South Africa's Ladysmith Black Mombazo is known for. Singer Mathias Muzaze's voice with all its raspy tones, as well as Trustworth Samende's guitar work also demand extra attention. They have won major awards and recognition from various publications and organizations focused on African music.
