Why is it delusional (mohā) to say the body is me, mine, or myself? Because the body's matter/energy constantly change, move, become different. There is nothing stable there to call a substance or essence. The same is true of thoughts and feelings. It's like calling a flowing river 'me'.

The fact the body can get infections also shows it's not you or yours. It's a territory you're inhabiting, and, just like land, you have to constantly defend it against others who also want to either live there or consume it as food.

Bodies are a type of hardware. Being attached to them, desiring them, etc is a type of materialism. People's obsessions with 'who' looks most beautiful is actually with whose mind HAS (ie, possesses, occupies, etc) the most beautiful body.
