The fact the body can get infections also shows it's not you or yours. It's a territory you're inhabiting, and, just like land, you have to constantly defend it against others who also want to either live there or consume it as food.

As I understand, the benefits of being a US territory include: they keep their culture, become US citizens (US jobs, edu, etc), and the US military defends them. I wonder if abused countries, like Ukraine and Taiwan, might be interested in being US territories.
