I've been doing some #MigrantSolidarity work lately, mostly with Venezuelans and am trying to understand the situation better.
Between the neoliberal bias of mainstream American media and the defensiveness of leftist outlets overlooking Maduro's human rights violations and consolidation of power, it's been *very* hard to get a nuanced, accurate account of things.

The declaration is a necessary step to help prevent a local humanitarian crisis from occurring as migrants and asylum seekers continue to enter the city.
