The Independent Sector has released its annual update of the financial value of a volunteer hour. &, like always, nonprofits & others across the USA will use it as THE indicator of why to involve #volunteers. Which is such a lousy idea for oh-so-many reasons. Focusing so much on the dollar value encourages financial supporters & others to ask why there are ANY paid staff, & encourage layoffs. It causes friction with staff paid by the hour less than what a volunteer is supposedly worth.

If you could describe a great civic environment, it might be a place so collaborative that tiny #parks are “planned, planted, named and maintained” by neighbors, working with the city’s parks dept. The Afghan Red Crescent distributed first aid kits to 152 volunteers in various districts of the provinces of Paktia, Logar, and Badakhshan, with each volunteer receiving one kit.

These supplies are to be distributed among local residents by volunteers during Afghan Red Crescent public awareness sessions.

The volunteers will raise awareness about health, hygiene, and preventative measures in the region through these public awareness sessions.

قرار است این مواد در جریان نشست‌های #آگاهی‌دهی_عامه هلال‌ احمرافغانی، توسط رضاکاران در بین باشندگان محل توزیع شود.

این رضاکاران از طریق آگاهی‌دهی عامه، سطح آگاهی مردم را در مورد صحت، حفظ‌الصحه و تدابیر وقایوی در منطقه افزایش خواهند داد.
