Finally got around to finishing up my most important #MendingMay project. My rucksack is slowly falling apart, and the strap that keeps the lower part away from my back was broken beyond repair. So I decided it was time to make a new strap and added some colour in the process. Here’s the result!
Bonus: my rucksack is more comfortable than ever.

Today’s mend: No one’s ever going to know that there was a tear in the seam on this jumpsuit. Unless they see the seams. Which I will hide on the inside of the fabric as soon as I get a needle.

Not a mend, but an exploration of the seam I wanted to use as a touch up on tonight’s mending. The underthread did something very interesting.

Working on mending some memade blue linen pants. The original linen is so thin and cheap (I think this might have been a wearable toile from 2017 or so) that I ought to just chuck them, but I kind of love these pants so I’m just practicing my patching skills on them. There are at least three more holes so this’ll give me something to do tomorrow, lol. #sewing #sewingclothes #mending #mendingmay #fiberarts #fiberartsfriday
Today’s mend: these corduroy trousers had done what corduroy trousers do, they were worn out on the knees. My daughter picked this patch from the patch pile (it’s turning into a pile, send help!) and chose the colour of the thread. The pictures don’t do it justice, so I’ll have to take more pictures of how the colours fit each other, but we’re both really happy with the result. Now I just need to fasten the threads and she can show off her design in kindergarten tomorrow.

Not entirely pleased with today’s mend, but the green and purple threads made a really nice effect. I’m not sure if I’ll cut off the frayed threads or not, the contrast between the neat little seam and the ruffled denim is kind of cool.

One of this week’s mends: two torn pillow covers turned into one. Both covers had one worn out side and one intact side, so I cut them in two and sewed the intact sides together with an overlock machine. It went so fast!

I finally got around to repair both of the knees on smol kid’s summer hiking pants, just in time for the season. The striped patch is sewn on by hand and the blue patch is the work of Syvert the sewing machine.

One of today’s many mends: these old panties I got from a friend as a mock present in high school. They got worn out over the years, and today I finally got around to sewing a new front panel on them.

Today’s mend: underwear. I found these panties at the bottom of my repair crate, and realised that the tear was so small that it could easily be mended invisibly. Here’s the result.
